Living Generously

Teaching the grands generosity

Greetings Friends,

Teaching GENEROSITY is challenging and possibly the most important attribute for those who follow Jesus. Jesus showed generosity in everything He did, including to people who didn't belong or were there for the wrong reasons.

The Generosity of Jesus' love changes our lives, and we live in the abundance of His blessings when we walk in His generosity. Who can OUTDO GOD? It's not possible & it always takes faith with great joy... I am not sure why we don’t have more sermons or teachings about generosity; it was essential in Jesus' life and in His message of love.

Our church - Genesis Church (Orlando) - has its outreach of providing Thanksgiving Meals for families who are having tough times right now in life. Our granddaughters talked during our shopping at Walmart while gathering the Thanksgiving grocery items for each family - what does that look like to 'have no food'?!?  I took the three littles (youngest granddaughters – {11, 9, & 6}  shopping with me.

We went a step further to share what it would look like to go a step further - to be GENEROUS in this process of shopping; & what impact this would have on the family? Amazing how quickly young minds understand & embrace the CHALLENGE to live generously.  It’s easy to talk about generosity, but it’s something else to live generously in our lives.

Every morning I wake up & address the 'camel looking at me in the mirror'; & remember the words of Jesus, who said it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle (a specific gate in Jerusalem) than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I am in pursuit of generosity; join me - it will be the toughest thing you will ever do in this life & with the journey comes the greatest joy. Amen Amen Amen

Joey Potter Missions, our board, & my family want to be generous and seek God’s direction on how Jesus would be generous in every situation we experience in life.  Culture gives us guidelines & boundaries; & many of these teachings or regulations are NOT the path which Jesus would take.  Jesus gave it all, intentionally, with guidance & purpose through God’s love, which changed everything in His blessing.

I desire to do the same, and I pray for our journey as JPM pursues generosity more each day.  I address that camel daily because I don’t want to have a problem passing through the gate called “Eye of the Needle” as a large camel.  I want to pass through as an individual devoted to the commitment of faith, trust, & pursuit of living generously in Jesus’ love with everything I & JPM do.

Pray for JPM & the JPM Board & our pursuit of living generously toward Thanksgiving & Christmas, as JPM pursues giving generously beyond boundaries to Blackfeet Reservation, Tecate, Mexico, Roatan, Honduras, Kenya, and the Gatlinburg Christmas Community.  We know some families and children dearly by name & life together, and we know others only by face and location, to whom we extend the generosity of God’s love & blessings.  We are thankful that you partner with Joey Potter Missions, which enables JPM to be generous because you are extremely and wonderfully generous through JPM, blessing these children and families.

JPM will continue this pursuit with the power and direction of the Holy Spirit, and we are asking God to guide us in giving & blessing.
Pray with us & join us in our pursuit of Jesus’ generosity.
It’s the greatest joy I have experienced ever, and I continue to celebrate His great love & generosity in my life.  Amen Amen Amen …

A blessed Thanksgiving to you & your family
Please let JPM know if there are prayer requests or needs, or if you would like an extreme plan of generosity for you & your family!
JPM has wonderful journeys happening – to God be the Glory; keep praying with us...Amen

Blessings
Joey
