Jehovah Jireh

Friends and partners!

We hope our last blog brought a lot of clarity to our mission and how we plan to accomplish it.

We know it's April 1st, but this is not an April Fools Joke!

As many of you know, Joey has been experiencing some medical issues exasperated by his fall earlier last month. On Tuesday, three different medical professionals told Joey he had a blockage. After leaving the doctor that day, Joey text over 400 people including JPM partners, friends, etc. asking for prayer. Prepared for the worst, Joey went in to see the cardiologist on Wednesday who happily reported, “no there’s no blockage. You’re good to go!”

WHAT?! All we can say is, "praise God!!!" Thank you Lord for Joey's health and future! Please continue to pray for Joey's health in preparation for his upcoming hernia repair.

We are thrilled to share yet another story of God answering a BIG prayer!!

Some of you are aware of the tornado that struck Mayfield, Kentucky this past December 2021. This violent vortex tore through many small towns and communities throughout western Kentucky leaving families with nothing to their name. JPM’s first response was to pray and ask God how we could possibly help and serve these communities in Jesus' name. The word came: “shoes”!

JPM went to work by reaching out to any and all contacts we knew of to source these shoes. We found that there is a shortage of shoes (amongst many other goods) and the expense of shoes is at an all time high in this country. Every contact we had responded with doubt and zero hope of shoe donation for these children and families. This was discouraging of course and left us to wonder how we could fulfill such an impossible request… but God! You may remember us asking you to pray alongside us last month for God to fulfill this donation and did he ever! While Joey was performing a wedding a few weekends ago, he was speaking with a gentleman at the reception named Reggie Luther. Joey began sharing JPM’s goals, challenges, etc. In that conversation, unbeknownst to Joey, Reggie shared that he owns a running shoe store and responds, “we have your shoes.” And just like that - more than 400 pairs of new shoes were donated! Praise God FROM whom ALL blessings flow!

Nehemiah 9:21, “For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.”Naturally this verse is in the context of a different story, but it shows that even in their persistent disobedience, God took care of his children. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He PROVIDES!

JPM will return to Mayfield and Dawson Springs, Kentucky the last week of April to bring this blessing of brand new shoes and new blue jeans! Thank you for your prayers & blessings!

Next Visit: Early April
Main Issues: Lack of clean water, firewood/coal and food
JPM Solutions: JPM Navajo Water Cistern & Fuel Projects. JPM has installed 11 Navajo Water Cisterns in the Reservation over the past 2 years. We partner with Pastor Cecil Lewis, the president of the BACA-Pruitt Tribal Council, who is on the ground there and leads these projects. He oversees the preparing of firewood using chainsaws we’ve donated, he travels around distributing food and he preaches the Gospel to anyone and everyone.
Current Needs: Continued monetary donation to fuel the Navajo Projects

Next Visit: End of April
Main Issues: Tornado that left hundreds of families with nothing
JPM Solutions: Mass Shoe Donation, Food Donations
Current Needs: Ongoing need for shoe donation and monetary donations for groceries

Next Visit: End of May
Main Issues: Literal starvation. There are no government funding options. 70% of the population is unemployed because there is no work. Tourism has halted leaving them with no options to provide for their families. Human trafficking is another huge issue JPM is combating. See Edna's Story for reference.
JPM Solutions: Monthly Food Distribution
Current Needs: 4 Door Pickup Truck Donation or $22,000 to purchase one on their mainland. Monetary donations for food and a 40’ tractor trailer container.

Next Visit: End of June
Main Issues: Lack of food and housing, poverty, vulnerable children.
JPM Solutions: Monthly Food Distribution, job creation, house building, partnership with local safe houses for vulnerable children. See Anthony's Story for reference.
Current Needs: SUV/Truck Donation! This is a major need so we are able to efficiently distribute food while on mission and away. Alternatively we rent vehicles which does not make financial sense when JPM visits 6-7 times per year and it costs $1,400 to rent a vehicle for the week.

We have made our 2022 Mission Dates available to see on our website. Please note that these dates are subject to change (especially in light of Joey’s upcoming surgery as a result of his fall), but give a good picture of JPM’s mission plans. If you are seriously interested in attending one of our mission trips, please email Joey!

Please continue to pray for Joey’s upcoming surgery. It is difficult for a missionary like Joey to have to rest when he would rather be out on mission. Please pray for peace and healing as well as balance for JPM’s upcoming schedule!

PRAY (this is always first and most important!)

SHARE (please share our facebook posts, instagram posts, website posts, etc.)

DONATE (if you prayerfully feel led to donate your time, money, vehicle, etc., please do so here or email JPM for more information!)

JPM is as committed as ever to reaching our mission of Feeding 1 Million Children daily in the next 6 years. We are actively reaching out to foundations, churches, organizations, companies, families and individuals to join us in this mission.

Joey and Cathy pray you seek God to do what only He can do in your life. And for you to be a blessing in this life as well!

Much love and many prayers & blessings,

Joey & Cathy
